Financial covenants — the agreements FMO makes with borrowers on ratios, limits and obligations — were tracked manually in spreadsheets. Risk teams worked reactively: breaches were discovered too late or missed entirely. Pressure on portfolio managers was high, the margin for error unacceptable.
What was built
An automated covenant management application in Mendix, fully integrated with Camunda for workflow orchestration. The app monitors covenants in real time, logs actuals, triggers Early Warning Signals and automatically forwards them to FMO's REACT platform. Portfolio managers see their entire portfolio in one screen, sorted by risk.

The problem
Contractor management was fragmented across departments and systems. No single source of truth. SAP was structurally out of sync, leading to errors in quote management and contract processing. Employees compensated with Excel and Outlook.

Three integrated Mendix portals: one for contractors, one for internal employees and a data layer connecting both. Real-time bidirectional SAP synchronisation and a dynamic quote wizard that structures and accelerates contract management.

Premium calculation was a manual and error-prone process. At the same time, six Mendix applications were running on outdated versions the organisation depended on but nobody understood well anymore. Technical debt was accumulating.

The problem
Caravankoopwijzer.nl was at risk of going offline due to an expiring vendor contract. ANWB had no internal Mendix capacity to rebuild, and the time pressure was high. Data loss was unacceptable.

Full rebuild of the platform with secure API data migration. Alongside the delivery, two ANWB employees were coached to independent Mendix capability so the organisation can manage the application itself.
